Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger III N16HA (msn 3229 built 1981) of Applebee Aviation Inc has sustained damage after it crashed in a christmas tree farm north of Woodburn, Oregon, USA on November 14. According to unconfirmed press reports the helicopter came down whilst it was carrying trees on a long line. The pilot suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1442L).

November 15, 2011
Bell Helicopter Textron 206L3 LongRanger HK-4621 (msn 51025 built 1982) of Aerocharter Andina SA reportedly struck power lines and crashed near El Palmar, Santander, Colombia on November 15. It is understood that the helicopter which was carrying money for a bank came down whilst en route from Bucaramanga to Tipacoque. The pilot and one passenger were injured in the accident and the money was recovered by the bank.

Hughes 369E G-WOOW (msn 0344E built 1989) of Michael Charles Pascall has crashed at Coll de Sa Gramola, near Andratx, Mallorca, Spain on November 12. The helicopter reportedly came down in a wooded area whilst on a flight from Palma de Mallorca, San Bonet Airport. The two occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1120L) .


November 11, 2011
Eurocopter Super Puma AS332L TPH-06/XC-UHM (msn 2127 built 1985) of the Mexican Air Force was destroyed after it crashed into high ground near Santa Catarina Atoyzingo, Mexico State, Mexico on November 11. The helicopter was en route from Campo Marte to Cuernavaca at the time of the accident with weather conditions reported as poor. The five passengers and three crew were all killed in the accident which happened in daylight (0855L). One of the passengers was Mexican Interior State Secretary Jose Francisco Blake Mora.

AgustaWestland AW109E HB-ZJN (msn 11118 built 2001) of Eliticino SA was destroyed after it crashed near Cingoli, Macerata, Italy on November 11. The three occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1030L).

Daher-Socata (TBM) TBM 700 N228CX (msn 84 built 1993) of HTS SA has crashed on final approach to Lyon Bron Airport, France on November 9, coming down in a storm drain and was destroyed by impact and post impact fire. The pilot, the only occupant of the aircraft was killed in the accident which happened in daylight (0915L).

An Eurocopter EC130B-4 of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters has crashed near Kaunakokai, Molokao, Hawaii, USA on November 10. The helicopter was operating a sightseeing flight over West Maui and the neighboring island of Molokai when it reportedly crashed into a mountainside. The pilot and four passengers were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1210L).

BAE SYSTEMS (Avro) RJ Avroliner RJ85 ZS-SSH (msn E2285 built 1996) of Airlink - SA Airlink has sustained damage at Johannesburg O R Tambo International Airport, South Africa on November 10 after it landed with its nose undercarriage retracted. Shortly after departure from Johannesburg the crew reported a problem with the nose undercarriage and having failed to solve it they decided to return. The subsequent landing was made with the nose undercarriage retracted and the aircraft remained on the runway. The 73 passengers and crew were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight. The aircraft was operating a flight to Pietermaritzburg.

Eurocopter AS365N3 I-DAMS (msn 6700 built 2004) of Inaer Aviation Italia SpA has crashed near Mineo, Catania, Italy on November 9. According to unconfirmed press reports the medical helicopter reportedly struck a wind turbine whilst en route in bad weather conditions from Caltanissetta to Siracusa. It is understood that the co-pilot was killed and the pilot and three passengers suffered serious injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1015L).

Eurocopter AS350B3 HB-ZGI (msn 3832 built 2004) of Air Grischa Helikopter AG has crashed on a road near Ardez, Engiadina, Switzerland on November 7. The helicopter’s main rotor reportedly struck the ground whilst filming at low level and the pilot carried out a forced landing during which the tail boom separated. The pilot was uninjured but two of the three passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1000L).

Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger II N88HC (msn 1576 built 1975) of Tri Rotor Spray & Chemical Inc has sustained damage in a forced landing at Buckeye, Arizona, USA on November 3. The helicopter which was crop spraying at the time of the accident came down in a walled area of land. The pilot was uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight.

Eurocopter EC130B-4 (msn 4054 built 2006) of Sweetwater Aviation LLC has crashed in a cornfield near Nobleville, Indiana, USA on November 3. The helicopter was reportedly en route was Fort Wayne to Indianapolis when bad weather prompted a (precautionary?) landing. During the landing the helicopter overturned and was destroyed by a subsequent fire. The pilot and five passengers were uninjured after exiting the helicopter before the fire told hold.

A MDH 500MD of the South Korean Army has crashed near Wonju, Gangwon Province, South Korea on November 2. The helicopter reportedly came down in mountainous terrain whilst participating in military exercise ‘Hoguk’. One of the crew was killed and the other seriously injured in the accident which happened in daylight (1440L) .

A Bell Helicopter Textron 206L LongRanger of Sunrise Helicopters Inc has crashed at Clear Lake, 29km south of Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada on November 2. It is understood that the helicopter which was being rented to Tembec, a forest products company came down in a remote area killing the pilot and two passengers.

A LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 767-35DER (SP-LPC msn 28656 built 1997) has sustained damage at Warsaw Okecie International Airport, Warsaw on November 1, after it landed with its undercarriage retracted. The aircraft was operating a flight (LOT016) from New York Newark International Airport, USA with 230 passengers and crew. The accident happened in daylight (1342L).

Israel Aerospace Industries Gulfstream G150 N480JJ (msn 241 built 2007) of Hendrick Motorsports Inc / Jimmie Johnson Racing II Incorporated has sustained damage after it overran the runway on landing at Key West International Airport, Florida, USA on October 31. According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft reportedly suffered a brake failure shortly after touchdown and could not be stopped on the runway. After leaving the runway its undercarriage collapsed before it came to a stop. The two crew and two passengers who were Rick Hendrick (NASCAR team owner) and his wife Linda suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in darkness (1945L).

Eurocopter AS350B-2 N165EH (msn 2185 built 1989) of ERA Aviation (Alaska)/
ERA Helicopters has crashed approximately 8nm southwest of Iliamna, Alaska, USA on October 29. The helicopter was reported as missing after it failed to arrive at its destination Iliamna. Wreckage of the AS350 was found the following morning in a remote area. It is understood that the pilot was killed in the accident which happened in darkness (1930L).

Beech 100 Kingair C-GXRX (msn B-36, built 1970) of NT Air has crashed just short of the runway at Vancouver Airport, Canada. It is understood that the 7 occupants were injured on the aircraft, with potential injuries also reported from onlookers who assisted in the rescue. The aircraft with was operating flight NTA204 from Vancouver to Kelowna returned to Vancouver shortly after take-off. The incident took place shortly after 14.00L on 27th October.

An unknown Antonov 24/26 of the Yemeni Air Force has been destroyed by fire at Al-Anad Air Base, Lahej Province, Yemen on October 25th. The aircraft reportedly crashed on landing and caught fire. The aircraft was understood to be carrying 15 passengers and crew with reports of up to four fatalities & four injured.

Hindustan Aeronautics Dhruv VT-BSH (msn DW-63 built 2009) belonging to the Indian Border Security Force was destroyed after it crashed in a forested area near Khakra, Jharkland, India on October 19.  According to unconfirmed press reports the helicopter came down after suffering a power loss whilst en route from Birsa Munda to Chaibasa. The two crew and one passenger were killed in the accident.

Boeing 727 286 Adv EP-IRR (msn 20946 built 1974) of Iran Air has sustained damage at Tehran Mehrabad International Airport, Iran on October 18, after it landed with its nose undercarriage retracted. The aircraft was operating a flight (IRA742) from Moscow Sheremetyevo with 19 crew and 94 passengers and it is understood that there were no injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1600L).

OO-HCI (msn 1581 built 2008) of Heli & Co SA has crashed 10km east of Liege, Belgium on October 18. The helicopter reportedly came down whilst on a gas pipeline inspection flight. The pilot and one passenger were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1200L).

A Britten-Norman BN2 Turbine Islander (believed to be RAN-49 msn 2191 built 1986) of the Nepal Army Air Wing has reportedly crashed whilst en route to Kathmandu, coming down in dense forest in the Dhorpatan National Park, Baglung, Nepal on October 18. The aircraft was operating an ambulance flight from Nepalgunj with six passengers and crew and it is understood that all six were killed in the accident which happened in darkness (1906L).

A Hughes 500MD of the Kenyan Army has crashed shortly after taking off from Liboi, Kenya on October 16. The helicopter reportedly suffered an ‘mechanical malfunction’ before coming down and catching fire. The five occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in darkness. 


October 15, 2011
Bell Helicopter Textron Bell 412SP YVO126 (msn 33137 built 1986) of Corporacion Venezolana de Guyana (Venezuela) has crashed near Santa Rosa, Bolivar, Venezuela on October 15. It is understood that one of the seven occupants of the helicopter were seriously injured in the accident which happened in daylight (1522L). The helicopter was tasked with operating an observation flight over the River Caroni and had departed from La Paragua.

A Cessna 208 Caravan (believed to be A2-AKD msn 208B0582 built 1997) of Moremi Air has crashed shortly after taking off from Xaxanaka, Botwana on October 14. The aircraft had eleven people on board at the time of the accident and it is understood that eight have been killed including the pilot. The accident happened in daylight. 


October 13, 2011
Bombardier (de Havilland) Dash 8-103 P2-MCJ (msn 125 built 1988) of Airlines PNG has crashed whilst on approach to Madang Airport, Papua New Guinea on October 13, coming down approximately 20km south of the airport. The aircraft was operating an internal flight from Lae with three crew and 29 passengers and it is believed that there were at least 20 fatalities in the crash. The accident happened in daylight (1700L), but with reportedly a ‘violent’ thunderstorm in the general area.

Daher-Socata TBM 850 N37SV (msn 441 built 2008) of SV Leasing Co of Florida has sustained substantial damage after it forced landed on a motorway near Hollywood, Florida, USA on October 12. The aircraft which was en route from Opa Locka to North Perry suffered an unknown problem before the forced landing was subsequently carried out on the Florida Turnpike. It is believed that no vehicles were struck during the ground roll and there was no fire. The pilot and one passenger were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight.

Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia RT ZS-PYO (msn 120245 built 1991) of Allegiance Air, operating for National Regionale Transport sustained substantial damage after it overran the runway on landing at Port Gentil, Gabon on October 12. After leaving the runway both main wings failed and the two engines struck the ground. The aircraft came to rest on its belly and there was no fire. The aircraft was operating a charter flight from Libreville with three crew and 27 passengers and it is understood that four passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (0800L).


October 10, 2011
Boeing 737-4Q8 TC-SKF (msn 26291 built 1993) of Sky Airlines has sustained damage on landing at Antalya Airport, Turkey on October 10. The aircraft reportedly suffered a right main undercarriage tyre burst on touchdown followed shortly after by the right main undercarriage collapsing. The 737 came to a stop resting on its right engine and remained on the runway. The aircraft was operating a flight from Baden Baden, Germany with 156 passengers and six crew and it is understood that there were no injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1206L).

MTV-1 RF-31129 (msn 96182 built 1993) of MChS Rossii – Emercom has sustained damage after it reportedly forced landed in the Transbaikal region of Russia on October 9. The three crew and four passengers were uninjured in the accident which happened whilst the helicopter was engaged in aerial reconnaissance of forest fires.

Cessna Citation II PT-LJJ (msn 550-0247 built 1981) of VP Promotora de Negocios e Consultoria Financeira has sustained damage after it overran the runway on landing at Manhuacu Elias Breder Airport, Minas Gerais, Brazil on October 7. After leaving the runway the aircraft ran into shrubs and its nose undercarriage collapsed. It is understood that there were no injuries to the five occupants of the aircraft, one of which was famous Brazilian singer Eduardo Costa. The accident happened in daylight (1730L).

Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger II C-FHTT (msn 1042 built 1973) of Rotorworks Inc has crashed 1km southeast of Drayton Valley Industrial Airport, Alberta, Canada on October 5. It is understood that the helicopter which was en route from Whitecourt Airport came down on open ground and was destroyed. The pilot was killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1830L).

Cessna 208B Grand Caravan C-GATV (msn 208B0308 built 1992) has crashed approximately 25km from Lutselk’e, Northwest Territories, Canada on October 4. The aircraft which was en route from Yellowknife to Lutselk’e had four people on board at the time of the accident and it is understood that two have been killed and two seriously injured. The accident happened in daylight (1140L).

Eurocopter EC120 Colibri B N3925A (msn 1594 built 2009) of US Customs and Border Protection/
US Department of Homeland Security has crashed south of Alamo, Texas, USA on October 4. The helicopter reportedly came down near the Mexico border whilst ‘flying in support of routine border security operations’. It is understood that the pilot and one passenger were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1330L).

Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger II N63Q (msn 2063 built 1976) registered to Paul P Dudley has crashed into the East River, New York, USA on October 4. It is understood that the helicopter came down shortly after taking off a city helipad. Unconfirmed witness reports suggest the helicopter spun around several times before hitting the water. The pilot and three of the passengers were rescued from the water but the fourth passenger is missing presumed killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1520L).

Dassault Aviation Falcon 20F XA-NCC (msn 264 built 1972) of Aerotaxis Dos Mil SA de CV has sustained damage during taxiing at Newnan Coweta County Airport, Georgia, USA on October 3. The aircraft was being repositioned for maintenance when it reportedly suffered a brake failure and rolled down an embankment. There were no injuries in the accident which happened in daylight.

Two Bell Helicopter Textron 212s of Inaer have reportedly suffered a mid-air collision near Castilla La Mancha whilst collecting water to extinguish a fire at Bienservida, Albacete Province, Spain on September 30. It is understood that the pilot of one of the fire-fighting helicopters was killed in the accident which happened in daylight. The exact circumstances of the accident are currently not known.

A Bell Helicopter Textron UH-1H of the Philippine Air Force has crashed whilst on approach to Camp Baladad, Patikul, Sulu Province, Philippine on October 1. The helicopter reportedly suffered a power loss with the pilot making a hard forced landing and overturning. It is understood that three of the four occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (0820L).

Fokker 50 ST-ASD (msn 20201 built 1990) of Sudan Airways has sustained damage at Khartoum Airport, Sudan on October 2, after it landed with its left main undercarriage retracted. On the approach to Malakal when the crew selected the undercarriage down the left main failed to extend. Unable to solve the undercarriage problem the crew decided to return to Khartoum where the aircraft veered off the runway shortly after touching down on Runway 18. The aircraft was operating a flight from Khartoum to Malakal with 45 passengers and crew and it is understood that there were no injuries in the accident which happened in daylight.

Indonesian Aerospace 212 200 PK-TLF (msn 283 built 1988) of Nusantara Buana Air has been reported as missing whilst on a flight from Medan Polonia Airport to Kutacane and it is believed wreckage has been located near Bahorok, North Sumatra, Indonesia on September 29. It is understood that there were four crew and 14 passengers on board the aircraft at the time of departure. Last ATC contact with the aircraft was approximately ten minutes after departure from Medan (0735L).

Eurocopter AS350 Soloy Super D N230CH (msn 2734 built 1994) of Coastal Helicopters Inc (Alaska) has sustained damage after it forced landed and rolled onto its side 25nm from Juneau, Alaska, USA on September 26. The pilot and single passenger were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1315L).

Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger III ZK-HXQ (msn 3077 built 1980) of Fine Particle Application (NZ) Ltd reportedly suffered a tail rotor failure and was damaged in the subsequent hard landing at Waitotara, New Zealand on September 26. The JetRanger which was on a crop spraying flight, rolled onto its side on touch down but there was no reported fire. The pilot was uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1650L).

Bell Helicopter Textron 206L-4 LongRanger PR-HLB (msn 52120 built 1994) of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) has forced landed shortly after taking off from Itaituda Airport, Para, Brazil on September 26. The helicopter came down near a house and sustained substantial damage in the subsequent hard landing. It is understood that the pilot and two passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1500L).

De Havilland DHC-3T Turbo Otter N361TT (msn 361 built 1959) of Paklook Air has crashed whilst on approach to Kodiak, Alaska, USA on September 23. The aircraft came down near Heitman Lake killing the pilot and seriously injuring the two passengers. The accident happened in twilight (1955L) whilst the Turbo Otter was operating a flight from Old Harbor Airport.

Cessna 208B Grand Caravan N208AF (msn 208B0660 built 1998) of Aerodynamics Worldwide Inc / Skydive UK Ltd has sustained damage after it reportedly overran the runway on landing at RAF South Cerney, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom on September 24. The pilot, the only occupant of the aircraft was uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (0900L).

An Indonesian Aerospace Bell 412SP of Airfast Indonesia has been reported as missing whilst on a flight from Dodo to Lemarung and is believed to have crashed near Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia on September 25. The fate of the two crew is not currently known and a search is ongoing for the helicopter.

A Hawker Beechcraft 1900 9N-AEK (msn UE-295 built 1997) of Buddah Air has crashed whilst on approach to Katmandu-Tribhuvan Airport, Nepal. The accident occured at 0730L on 25th September, in overcast conditions, with low cloud. It is understood there were three crew and 16 passengers onboard at the time of the accident, and only one person survived the initial impact, however they later died enroute to the hospital.

A De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter C-GARW (msn 367 built 1973) of Arctic Sunwest Charters has crashed whilst on approach to Great Slave Lake in Yellowknife, NWT, Canada. The aircraft which was equipped with floats was making an approach to land on the lake over the old town part of Yellowknife when it clipped a building, and hit power lines. The accident occurred at 13.15 in daylight on Thursday 22nd September.

PK-UCE msn 943 built 2004) of Yajasi Aviation has crashed in mountainous terrain near Pasalei, Yalimo Regency, Indonesia on September 22. The pilot and two passengers were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1313L). The aircraft was operating an internal flight from Pagai to Wamena.

A Hawker Beechcraft 99A (believed to be HH-APA) of Salsa d'Haiti has crashed into a sugar cane field near Milot, Haiti on September 20. The aircraft was en route operating an internal flight from Port Au Prince to Cap Haitien at the time of the accident with two crew and one passenger and it is understood that they were all killed. The accident happened in daylight but in heavy rain and generally poor weather conditions.

A Bell Helicopter Textron 412 of FAASA has crashed in mountainous terrain at Fuente de la Gitana, Spain on September 19. It is understood that two of the three occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1125L). The helicopter was reportedly en route from Palma de Rio, Cordoba to Alhama de Granada, Almeria.

Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger III D-HONY (msn 2433 built 1978) of Rotorflug GmbH reportedly suffered a power loss whilst en route from Jerez to Malaga and crashed in a built up area at El Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz, Spain on September 18. It is understood that the pilot and two passengers were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1650L).

Aircraft Industries - Let L-410 Turbolet UVP HR-ASZ (msn 851530 built 1985) of Aerolineas SOSA has sustained damage after it struck a cow on landing at Utila Airport, Honduras on September 16. The aircraft came to a stop and remained on the runway but suffered a right main undercarriage collapse. The two crew and 13 passengers were uninjured in the accident. The aircraft was operating an internal flight from La Ceiba.

Embraer 190LR HC-CEZ (msn 19000027 built 2006) of TAME Ecuador has sustained substantial damage after it overran Runway 35 on landing in poor weather at Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport, Ecuador on September 16. After leaving the runway the aircraft struck a wall and its undercarriage collapsed. The aircraft was operating an internal flight from Loja with six crew and 97 passengers and it is understood that there were no injuries in the accident which happened in darkness (1911L).

North American P-51D-15NA Mustang N79111 (msn 109-35934) named Galloping Ghost flown by Jimmy Leeward was destroyed when it crashed violently near the grandstands, possibly into a seating area, at the Reno Air Races in Nevada, on September 16. The aircraft appeared to come down at high speed near vertically into the ground killing the pilot. It is understood that at least eight people were killed on the ground but numbers in early reports have ranged as high as 75 injured, 25 of those critically. The crash took place at about 1630L during an Unlimited Gold heat race.

Bell Helicopter Textron 206B JetRanger III N3181J (msn 3771 built 1983) of William L Doffing suffered an engine failure and crashed shortly after taking off from Spicewood Airport, Texas, USA on September 15. It is understood that the pilot and one passenger were uninjured in the accident.

Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia ER T-500 msn 120359 built 2003 of the Angolan Peoples Air Force has crashed on take off from Huambo Airport, Angola on September 14. The aircraft reportedly broke apart and was destroyed by fire. It is understood that there were four crew and 19 passengers on board the aircraft at the time of the accident and 17 people were killed.

Eurocopter AS350B-3 F-HFBI (msn 4824 built 2009) of Chamonix Mont Blanc Helicopters has crashed at Vallorcine, Rhone Alpes, France on September 14. According to unconfirmed press reports the helicopter which had carried out an inspection flight over Emosson dam reportedly struck cables on landing. Control  was lost and it struck the ground and rolled onto its side. A fire started which destroyed the helicopter and killed the pilot and three passengers. The accident happened in daylight (1000L).

Bell Helicopter Textron 230 Executive ZS-HMP (msn 23010 built 1993) of Pacific Coast Investments 126 has crashed under unknown circumstances at Morwaneng, near Groblerdal, Limpopo, South Africa on September 13. It is understood that the two crew and four passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the helicopter was burnt out by a post impact fire.

Eurocopter AS350B-2 D-HFAX (msn 2585 built 1991) of FJS Helicopter Lufttransport sustained damage after it crashed on a factory roof in the Stocken area of Hannover, Germany on September 10. According to unconfirmed press reports the helicopter came down after it suffered a reported power loss whilst lifting cargo on a long line.. It is understood that the two occupants of the helicopter were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1230L).

Eurocopter AS350 Soloy SD1 VH-RDU (msn 2495 built 1991) of Heli Charters Pty Ltd has crashed in dense bush land at Shoalwater Bay, 96km North of Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia on September 8. According to unconfirmed press reports the helicopter came down whilst performing maintenance work on a communication tower. It is understood that two of the three occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident, which happened in daylight (1203L).

A Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant Mi-8 of the Georgian Air Force has crashed on landing in poor weather conditions in the Khevsureti region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Georgia on September 6. The three crew and eight passengers (who were Georgian and foreign journalists) suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Yakolev Yak42 RA-42434 (msn 4520424305017 built 1993) of Yak Service has crashed on departure from Yaroslavl on a flight to Minsk, Belarus. The aircraft was carrying the Yaroslavl Locomotive Hockey team, and staff to a hockey game in Minsk. Of a total of 37 and 8 crew that are reported to be on board, there are 34 pax fatalities confirmed, there is currently no information on crew fatalities. The crash occurred at 15.15 on 7th September 2011, when the aircraft hit a radio antenna on departure. At this point no details of the weather at the time of departure has been reported. The aircraft broke into two pieces, with the front piece in the river Volga, and the back on the shore. The wreckage is some 2km from the airport at Yaroslavl.

Fairchild (Swearingen) Metro III CP-2548 (msn BC-768B built 1990) of AeroCon has crashed while on approach to Jorge Heinrich Airport, Trinidad, Bolivia on September 6. Unconfirmed press reports state the last contact with the aircraft was when it was approximately ten miles from the airport and it came down a short time later in reportedly poor visibility. The seven passengers and two crew were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1758L).

Cessna 441 Conquest II OB-1971-P (msn 441-0058 built 1978) of Horizons South America SAC has sustained damage after it suffered a right main undercarriage collapse whilst taxiing after landing at Velazco Astete International Airport, Cuzco, Peru on September 5.  The two crew were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1100L).

Daher-Socata TBM 850 N850SY (msn 546 built 2010) of Green Plane LLC has crashed near Mount Pleasant, Racine, Wisconsin, USA on September 5. According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft was diverting to Batten International Airport after suffering an engine problem when it came down in a field approximately 2.5nm south of the airport killing the pilot, the only occupant of the aircraft. The accident happened in daylight (1830L). The aircraft was operating a flight to Mitchell International Airport, Milwaukee.

Soko SA341H Gazelle 12752 (msn 017 built 1981) of the Montenegro Army has crashed at Herceg Novi, Lustica Peninsula, Montenegro on September 2. According to unconfirmed press reports the pilot lost control of the helicopter after it made contact with a wall and subsequently came down on rocks approximately 10m from the Adriatic coast. The three occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1100L).

Airbus A300-603 EP-MNT (msn 603 built 1989) of Mahan Air has sustained damage at Mashad Shahid Hashemi Nejad Airport, Iran, on September 3, after it veered off the runway on landing. The aircraft then ran onto soft ground and its nose undercarriage collapsed. The aircraft was operating a flight from Tehran with 230 passengers on board and it is understood that there were eight minor injuries in the accident which happened in darkness (2345L).

Embraer ERJ-145LR N840HK (msn 145341 built 2000) of Trans States Airlines has sustained damage after veering off the runway on landing at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport, Ontario, Canada on September 4. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the right main undercarriage collapsed before the aircraft came to a stop on a grass area. The aircraft was operating a flight from Chicago O Hare International Airport with three crew and 44 passengers and it is understood that there were no injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1535L).

CASA 212-300 966 (msn 443 built 1994) of the Chilean Air Force has crashed into the Pacific Ocean whilst on approach to Isla Robinson Crusoe Airport, Juan Fernandez Islands, Chile on September 2. Unconfirmed press reports state the aircraft, which was en route from Santiago on an earthquake relief flight, had 21 passengers and crew on board at the time of the accident and there were no survivors. Amongst the passengers were a TV crew of five including presenter Felipe Camiroaga. Weather conditions on the islands was reported as ‘rough and windy’ and floating debris has apparently been found in the water approximately 1km from the airport.

Cessna 208B Grand Caravan N162GA (msn 208B0667 built 1988) of Grant Aviation Inc has crashed approximately 10nm north of Nightmute, Alaska, USA on September 2, after it reportedly collided midair with a Cessna 207 operated by Ryan Air. The Caravan reportedly went out of control and crashed killing its pilot whilst the Cessna 207 although badly damaged forced landed on the tundra with no injuries to its single pilot. The accident happened in daylight (1600L). Cloud ceiling was reported as 1,000ft with no fog or rain. The Caravan was operating a cargo flight from Toksook.

Bombardier (Canadair) CRJ200ER Regional Jet N875AS (msn 7559 built 2001) of Atlantic Southeast Airlines has sustained damage at Baton Rouge Metropolitan/Ryan Field, Louisiana, USA on September 1, after it landed with its left main undercarriage retracted. The aircraft was operating a flight (DAL5058) from Atlanta with three crew and 50 passengers and it is understood that there were no injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1635L).

It is understood that a heavy hailstorm has caused damage to up to 18 helicopters attending a private fly-in at the Hotel Weiser Bar in Mulheim an der Mosel, Germany on August 26 with reportedly tennis ball sized hailstorms falling also causing damage to properties/cars etc. The extent of damage to the following helicopters is unconfirmed as yet –Eurocopter EC-120B D-HALX, EC-120B D-HKDV, EC-120B D-HKLE, EC-120B D-HOER, EC-120B N263CP, EC-120B PH-LPH, EC-135P2+ D-HRGR, AS350B2 D-HWEG, Enstrom F28A D-HAEW, F28A D-HFIN, F28C D-HHSB, F28F D-HEVA, Robinson R22B II D-HHSA, R44 D-HIZZ, R44 OE-XLD, R44 II D-HKAA, R44 II D-HSEV and R44 II D-HXXR.

Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant Mi-8 MTV-1 RA-25560 (msn 96783 built 2009) of Rosneft Baltika has crashed near Arkhyz, Karachaevo-Cherkessia, Russia on August 29. It is understood the helicopter which was en route to the opening of an construction project came down on a ridge injuring at least 13 people, including deputy Presidential aide for the Caucasus, Maksim Bystrov. The accident happened in daylight (1630L).

Hughes 369D YJ-HEL (msn 80-0778D built 1980) of Vanuatu Helicopters has crashed in mountainous terrain near South Malakula, Vanuatu on August 28. The pilot was killed and the two passengers suffered serious injuries in the accident which happened in daylight.

Eurocopter AS350B-2 N352LN (msn 3728 built 2003) of LifeNet (Heartlands) was destroyed after it crashed near Mosby, Missouri, USA on August 26. According to unconfirmed press reports the air ambulance helicopter came down whilst on approach to the Midwest National Air Centre where it planned to refuel whilst on a flight to the Liberty Hospital Heliport, Kansas City. It is understood that the pilot, flight nurse, flight paramedic and patient were killed in the accident, the cause of which is not yet known.

Airbus A320-214 A9C-AG (msn 4188 built 2010) of Gulf Air has sustained damage after it veered off Runway 27 on landing at Kochi, India on August 29 and suffered a nose undercarriage collapse. According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft had encountered sudden gusts of winds and heavy rain on final approach but the landing was continued. The six crew and 137 passengers evacuated the aircraft although one passenger received serious injuries and seven other minor injuries. The accident happened in darkness (0355L). The aircraft was operating a flight (GFA270) from Bahrain.

Airbus A300-620 5A-IAY (msn 354 built 1984) of Afriqiyah Airways was destroyed after it was burnt out at Tripoli International Airport, Tripoli, Libya on August 24. The battle between Libyan rebels and Gaddafi Loyalists intensified during Wednesday 24 August and in a rocket attack on the International airport at least one aircraft was destroyed. Other unconfirmed reports suggest more aircraft have been damaged including Airbus A320-214 5A-ONK (msn 4330 built 2010).

Bombardier (de Havilland) DHC-6 Twin Otter 300 9M-MDM (msn 804 built 1983) of MASWings has sustained damage after it veered off the runway on landing in strong winds at Lawas Airport, Sarawak, Malaysia on August 24 and its nose undercarriage collapsed. The two crew and 16 passengers were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1530L). The aircraft was operating a flight (MAS3156) from Miri, Malaysia.

A Eurocopter SA341 Gazelle of the Tunisian Air Force has crashed near Rbagh, approximately 30km from Ben Guerdane, Tunisia on August 20. The helicopter reportedly came down under unknown circumstances whilst en route from Ben Guerdane to Gabes. The two occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident.

AgustaWestland AW139 PR-SEK (msn 31081 built 2007) of Malaga Taxi Aereo Ltda has crashed in the sea of Macae, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 19, killing the four occupants. The aircraft is understood to have departed from P65 offshore oil platform and was en route to Macae at the time of the accident (1715L). Unconfirmed press reports suggest the crew declared an emergency with hydraulic problems shortly before contact with the helicopter was lost.

A Boeing 737-200 C-GNWN (msn 21067, built 1975) of First Air has crashed 2km west of Resolute Bay Airport, Nunavut, Canada whilst operating flight 6560 from Yellowknife. It is reported that 12 of the 15 persons onboard (11 passengers & 4 crew) have been killed. The aircraft was on approach to Resolute Bay, when the accident occured in daylight at 1240L. The weather at the time was reported to be low cloud/shallow fog.

Eurocopter AS350B-3 I-LASF (msn 4502 built 2008) of Heliwest Srl has sustained damage whilst on a fire fighting mission near Roccella Valdermone, Sicily, Italy on August 17. The pilot who was the only occupant of the helicopter was reportedly uninjured. The exact circumstances of the event are not currently known.

Eurocopter AS355F2 VH-NTV (msn 5380 built 1989) of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation was destroyed after it crashed near Cooper Inlet on the eastern shore of Lake Eyre, South Australia, Australia on August 18. It is understood that the pilot and two passengers were killed in the accident, the cause of which is not yet known although bad weather was reported in the area the helicopter came down.

Bell Helicopter Textron 412 ARBV-0608 of Venezuelan Naval Aviation has crashed into the Caribbean sea off Boca de Uchire, Anzoategui, Venezuela on August 17. Unconfirmed press reports state the helicopter, which was en route from Barcelona to Maiquetia, had ten passengers and crew on board at the time of the accident and one person was killed, one injured and the remaining eight are missing at the present time.

A helicopter of the Beijing Police has crashed into a reservoir in the northern suburbs of Beijing, China on August 17. Four of the five occupants of the helicopter are currently missing presumed killed in the accident which happened in daylight. The helicopter was apparently returning from a rescue drill in Miyun county.

Two piston powered Piaggio P166S Albatross aircraft (ZU-ACI msn 447  + one other) were reported as missing after they failed to arrive at Grand Central Airport, Midrand after a flight from Tzaneen, South Africa on August 14. Unconfirmed press reports suggest between 12 to 14 people were on both aircraft at the time of departure. Last contact with the aircraft, which had taken part in an air display, was shortly after 1400L when the aircraft were apparently over mountainous terrain south of Tzaneen and a search and rescue operation is currently in progress.

Bell Helicopter Textron 206 JetRanger 1632 of the Mexican Air Force has crashed after it reportedly suffered an engine failure and came down near Xpujil, Campeche, Mexico August 10. The two crew and one passenger suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1343L).

Eurocopter Bo105LS A3 P2-RUH (msn 2050 built 1996) of Manolos Aviation Ltd has crashed 5km south of Timini, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea on August 8. The helicopter, with the pilot and two passengers on board, went missing on a flight from Mumeng to Wafi in reportedly ‘heavy cloud cover’. The wreckage of the Bo105 was found on August 10 after an extensive search and all on board were killed.

An Antonov An-12 (believed to be RA-11125 msn 3341006 built 1963 but unconfirmed) of Avis Amur has been reported as missing whilst on a cargo flight from Magadan to Keperveem, Russia on August 9. The Antonov reportedly had 12 crew on board at the time of departure and was en route approaching Omsukchan in the Magadan Region of Russia when the crew reported an engine fire and requested to return to Magadan. Last radar contact with the aircraft was shortly after at 1434L and a search and rescue operation is currently in progress.

Helibras AS350B-3 GN-928 (msn 4686 built 2009) of the Argentinian Police has crashed whilst on an anti-drug trafficking mission, coming down near Ahi Veremos, Santiago del Estero Province, Argentina on August 6. The helicopter had apparently spotted a Cessna 210 light aircraft on the ground near Ahi Veremos which was apparently suspected of being used for drug smuggling. At some point the light aircraft attempted to take off and the helicopter was positioned to prevent it from lifting off. However the Cessna propeller struck the AS350's tail rotor as the light aircraft became airborne.  The helicopter tail rotor separated and it then began to spin. Control was not regained, the helicopter touched down while still rotating and rolled over onto its right side. The Cessna apparently made an emergency forced landing a short time later and the pilot was not apprehended. The five occupants of the Police helicopter were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1100L).

Unconfirmed press reports suggest ten of the 36 occupants of the aircraft were injured in the accident which happened in daylight after a flight from Chita, Russia.

A Boeing CH-47 Chinook operated on behalf of the International Security Assistance Force has crashed in eastern Afghanistan on August 6. The military helicopter reportedly came down in Wardak Province killing all 38 on board (31 US Special forces and seven Afghan soldiers). It is unclear what caused the accident which is claimed to be the biggest single loss of life for US forces in Afghanistan since operations began in 2001.

The helicopter reportedly had 10 passengers and crew on board at the time of departure from Manado. Last contact with the helicopter was at 1430L and a search and rescue operation is currently in progress.

Cessna 208B Grand Caravan (C-98A) 2735 (msn 208B2130 built 2009) of the Brazilian Air Force has crashed near Bom Jardin da Sierra, Santa Catarina, Brazil on August 2, killing the eight occupants. The aircraft is understood to have departed from Canoas Air Base, Porto Alegre and was en route to Galeao International Airport at the time of the accident. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the aircraft disappeared from radar at 1327L and wreckage was discovered soon afterwards.

Eurocopter AS350B-3 5N-BKA (msn 3994 built 2005) of Odengene Air Shuttle was destroyed after it crashed into Oke Oba hill near Ife-Odan, Osun state, Nigeria on July 29. The helicopter had reportedly departed from Maryland, Lagos at 0925L en route to IIorin and crashed a short time later.  It is understood that the pilot and two passengers were killed in the accident.

A helicopter of Vancouver Island Helicopters has crashed on Nelson Glacier, near Stewart, British Columbia, Canada on July 31. The helicopter which was reportedly on a geological flight crashed at the 5,100ft level of the glacier. The pilot and two passengers were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1600L).

Boeing 777-266ER SU-GBP (msn 28423 built 1997) of Egyptair has sustained damage after it suffered a cockpit fire whilst parked on the ground at Cairo International Airport, Egypt on July 29. The aircraft which was parked on stand F7 was being prepared to depart to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on flight MSR667 and had 291 passengers aboard at the time the fire started. With smoke entering the cabin the crew initiated an emergency evacuation which was completed with five minor injuries. The fire, which was brought under control by the airport fire service, burned a hole through the side of the cockpit just below the first officers cockpit window.

A Boeing 737-800 (reported as 9Y-PBM msn 29635, built 2007) of Caribbean Airlines has overrun the runway at Georgetown, Guyana, and the fuselage has broken into two pieces. The aircraft which was operating flight BW523 from Port of Spain (Trinidad), overran Runway 06 at Georgetown by approximately 100 Meters. The incident occurred in darkness at 01.30L on Saturday 30th July 2011. There are no fatalities reported amongst the 154 passengers and 8 crew, however two passengers are reported to have been seriously injured.

Boeing 747-48EF HL7604 (msn 29907 built 2006) of Asiana Airlines was destroyed after it crashed off Jeju Island, South Korea on July 28, coming down approximately 70nm west of the island. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the cargo aircraft which was en route from Seoul Incheon to , China on flight AAR991 disappeared from radar shortly after the crew had reported a cargo hold fire. The two crew were killed in the accident which happened in darkness (0412L).

A Lockheed Hercules C-130 Hercules of the Royal Moroccan Air Force has crashed into mountainous desert near Guelmim, Morocco on July 26, killing at least 30 people. The aircraft is understood to have departed from Laayoune, Morocco with 73 passengers and crew on board and fog and bad weather conditions were reported in the area the aircraft came down.

A Cessna 208 Caravan (believed to be 3009 msn 20800159 built 1989) of the South African Air Force has sustained damage in a ‘down slope’ landing near the Kei river mouth, Eastern Cape, South Africa on July 23. The pilot suffered minor injuries in the accident while the passengers were uninjured. The aircraft was believed to be participating in military operation ‘Winter Solstice’ at the time of the accident.

A Royal Thai Army Bell UH-1H was destroyed after it crashed into densely forested high terrain near Ratchaburi, Thailand on July 16. The helicopter was reportedly en route from the Thap Phraya Sua camp in Ratchaburi to the Kaeng Krachan National Park. The two crew and three passengers were killed in the accident. While taking part in a mission to retrieve the victims of the UH-1H accident on July 19 a Royal Thai Army Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk crashed in the same position. The nine occupants of the Blackhawk helicopter were all killed. As part of a mission to retrieve the victims of the Blackhawk a third Royal Thai Army helicopter, a Bell 212 has crashed in Phetchaburi Province on July 24 killing the two crew and one passenger. A second passenger was also seriously injured in the accident which happened in daylight (0930L).

ATR 72-212 EI-SLM (msn 413 built 1994) of Aer Arann has suffered a nose undercarriage collapse on landing at Shannon Airport, Shannon, Ireland on July 17. According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft had landed on Runway 24 in turbulent wind conditions and the undercarriage collapsed on vacating the runway onto a taxiway. The four crew and 21 passengers were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1021L). The aircraft was operating a flight on behalf of Aer Lingus (EIN3601) from Manchester, United Kingdom.

The helicopter was reportedly en route to Navegantes in foggy weather conditions at the time of the accident (0930L). It is understood that the pilot and two passengers were killed in the accident.

Whilst taxiing for departure from Boston Logan International Airport, MA, USA during the evening of July 14, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 767-300ER has collided on the taxiway with a Bombardier CRJ900 Regional Jet 900ER NextGen N132EV (msn 15219 built 2009) of Atlantic Southeast Airlines. The Boeing 767’s winglet made contact with the vertical and horizontal stabiliser of the CRJ900. There were no reported injuries to any of the passengers and crew on both aircraft. The Boeing 767 was on a flight to Amsterdam (DAL266) and the CRJ900 was scheduled to depart to Raleigh-Durham (ASQ4904).

It is understood that a severe thunderstorm has struck Denver International Airport (Colorado, USA) and the surrounding area during the evening of July 13. According to unconfirmed reports a hailstorm caused extensive damage to multiple aircraft which were on the ground at the facility. Additionally there are reports also of multiple vehicles receiving damage although the airport buildings are understood not to be badly damaged. More than 1,000 passengers were stranded at the airport because of associated flight cancellations

Unconfirmed press reports state the helicopter crashed a short time after it had departed from Guaymaral on a flight to Girardot. It is understood that the two occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1530L).

Aircraft Industries - Let L-410 Turbolet UVP-E20 PR-NOA (msn 092719 built 2010) of Noar Linhas Aereas has crashed shortly after taking off from Recife Airport, Brazil on July 13, coming down on open ground near the airport. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the crew had reported a problem during the initial climb out and were attempting to return to the airport. It is understood that the two crew and 14 passengers were killed in the accident. The aircraft was operating a flight to Natal.

Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant Mi-8T RA-24278 (msn 98734322 built 1987) of Komiaviatrans has forced landed near Kotlas in the Arkhangelsk region of Russia on July 12. At the time of the accident (1417L), the helicopter was ferrying firefighters to a forest fire in the Udorsky district. It is understood that the four crew and five firefighters that were on board the helicopter were uninjured.

A Sikorsky S-76 helicopter of Heli Union has crashed into the Andaman Sea off the coast of Myanmar on July 11. Unconfirmed press reports state the helicopter came down a short time after it had departed from the Yetagun oil field carrying oil workers. It is understood that two crew and 11 passengers were on board the helicopter at the time of the accident (1130L) and the co-pilot and two of the passengers were killed, the remainder were rescued.

A Bell Helicopter Textron 206 JetRanger has crashed near Chimaltenango, Guatemala on July 8. The two passengers on board the helicopter were killed in the accident but the pilot, vice presidential candidate from the Nationalist Change Unity political party Mauricio Urruela survived with serious injuries. The helicopter was en route from Quiche to Guatemala City.

Cessna 421C Golden Eagle II N692TT (msn 421C0616 built 1978) of Advanced Integrated Technology Solutions LLC was destroyed after it crashed 10 miles west of Demopolis, Alabama, USA on July 9. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the aircraft had suffered an engine failure whilst en route from Creve Coeur to Destin Fort Walton Beach and the pilot decided to divert to Demopolis. The aircraft was later found burnt out in a wooded area near Demopolis Municipal Airport. It is understood that the pilot and six passengers were killed in the accident.

An Antonov An-24 of Angara Airlines has ditched in the Ob River, approximately 63km from Nizhnevartovsk, Russia on July 11. The aircraft, which was en route from Surgut to Tomsk, reportedly suffered an engine fire before the crew carried out the forced landing. The aircraft had six crew and 30 passengers on board at the time of the accident (0855L) and it is understood that three people have been killed.

According to unconfirmed press reports the last contact with the aircraft was when it was descending through 12,500ft while on the approach to land at Bagram. The nine occupants of the aircraft were killed in the accident which happened in darkness (0010L). The aircraft was operating a cargo flight from Baku, Azerbaijan.

An Eurocopter SA330 Puma of the Royal Air Force has crashed on open ground near Andover, Wiltshire, United Kingdom on July 5. The helicopter was understood to be a training flight from RAF Benson at the time of the accident. The three crew suffered minor injuries after it came down in a field near the A303 road and turned onto its right side. The accident happened in daylight (1330L).

A Mil Mi-8 of UT Air Aviation has crash landed in the Irkutsk region of Russia some 720km from Ust-Kut on July 5. At the time of the accident (0931L) the helicopter was en route from Ust-Kut to a drilling site in the Katanga district carrying oil workers. Two of the three crew and 13 passengers were killed in the accident and one more person was reportedly critically injured.

The aircraft which was operating flight 7R243 from Moscow Domodedovo crashed 1200 meters short of the runway at Petrozavodsk at 2340L on 20th June 2011. The aircraft had a passenger complement of 43, and a crew of 9. Of these 44 are reported as dead, with the remaining 8 having severe injuries.

The aircraft took off from Aurora Municiple Airport at 0930L on Monday 13th June 2011, and crashed 20 minutes later approximately 4 miles from the airfield. The aircraft made an emergency landing in a cornfield, after reporting an engine fire. All 7 persons on board are reported to have escaped without injuries.

American Blimp Corporation A-60+ G-TLEL (msn 003 built 1990) of Lightship Europe Ltd was destroyed after it crashed near Reichelsheim Airfield, Wetteraukreis, Germany on June 12. Whilst on the approach to Reichelsheim the airship apparently suffered a problem and the pilot decided to made a precautionary landing. Nearing the ground the three passengers jumped to safety but the airship rose up to approximately 40m and caught fire. The fire spread rapidly and the airship subsequently fell to the ground and was destroyed. The pilot was killed in the accident which happened in daylight.

Whilst on the approach to White Plains Westchester County Airport when the undercarriage was selected down, the crew could not get an indication that it was down and locked. Further attempts were made to get the undercarriage to extend properly but without success and the aircraft diverted to Newburgh. The aircraft subsequently touched down with the undercarriage extended but, during the landing roll, the right main undercarriage collapsed. The three occupants of the aircraft were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (0930L). The aircraft was operating a flight from Greenville Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The helicopter was understood to have been parked at the St John’s hospital which was directly in the path of the tornado. At least 89 people were killed in Joplin and the surrounding area with some 2000 homes being destroyed in the event.

A Mil Mi-17 helicopter of Afghan National Army Air Corps has crashed on landing at Paroon, Nuristan, Afghanistan on May 11. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the helicopter, which was part of a flight of four Mi-17s, struck a tree and overturned while landing in a compound of the National Directorate of Security. The nine occupants of the helicopter were reportedly uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1215L).

Helibras AS350BA UH-12 Esquilo N-7078 (msn 2497 built 1991) of the Brazilian Navy crashed into the River Negro, Manaus, Brazil on May 10. The helicopter reportedly came down in the river a short time after taking off from the Brazilian Navy hospital ship Oswaldo Cruz and sank to a depth of approximately 20 metres. The five occupants of the helicopter swam to safety and were uninjured. The accident happened in daylight (0800L).

A MD Helicopters MD902 Explorer of the Police of Baden-Wurttemberg has crashed into a wooded area at Engelsbrand, 7km SSW of Pforzheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany on May 10 whilst searching for a missing 77 year old women who had disappeared from a retirement home. The three occupants of the helicopter suffered serious injuries in the accident which happened in darkness (2130L). The missing women was later found safe and well.

A Continental Airlines Boeing 737-800 registered N12221 (MSN 28930, built 
1998) has been damaged when the ground beneath it collapsed at Greenville Mid-Delta Regional Airport (GLH), at 01.15L on 9th May 2011. The aircraft had just been repainted into United Airlines colours, and was operating a ferry flight (COA9973) from Greenville to Houston (IAH). Whilst taxiing to take-off a sink-hole under the concrete opened up, and the aircraft's left gear reportedly dropped into the hole, and the left wingtip cracked in half. No injuries occured because of this incident.

A Bell Helicopter Textron 206L LongRanger of Aerocharter Andina SA has crashed at Puerto Wilches, Santander, Colombia on May 9. It is understood that the helicopter, which was transporting a petrochemical survey team came down a short time after taking off. The pilot and five passengers were injured in the accident which happened in daylight (1740L).

A Merpati Nusantara Airlines Caic MA-60 registered PK-MZK  (msn 0603 built 2008) has crashed on approach to Kaimana, Indonesia. The aircraft was operating flight MZ8968 from Sorong to Kaimana, and had commenced it's final approach to runway 19 at Kaimana when it impacted water at 500 metres short of the runway. The accident took place in fog/heavy rain conditions at approximately 1400L on Saturday 7th May 2011.
Upon impact the aircraft broke up, and sank 30 metres to the sea floor. The full complement of passengers (21) and crew (6) were reported to have been trapped in the aircraft, and all have perished.

Tsunami Update
Following the tsunami in Japan on March 11 caused by an 9.0Mw earthquake the following losses are currently known principally from Sendai Airport and Matsushima Air Base. Multiple Japan Air Self Defence Force aircraft were submerged including 18 Mitsubishi F-2 fighters (one is 23-8114) ,5 Kawasaki T-4 jet trainers (including 16-5658, 26-5683), 2 U-125's Hawker 800XP's (including 02-3013), 5 UH-60J's helicopters (including 48-4560, 88-4624, 38-4578, 48-4580).

Additionally at Tokyo Haneda airport two Boeing 777s of JAL and ANA sustained minor damage.

A helicopter of the South Korean Forestry Aviation Office has crashed near Sogeum River, Gangwon Province, South Korea on May 5. A search and rescue operation is currently underway and the fate of the two crew who were onboard the helicopter is unknown at the present time. The accident happened in daylight (1132L).

After leaving the runway the aircraft apparently ran down an embankment before coming to a stop. The nine occupants of the aircraft were uninjured in the accident. The aircraft was operating a flight from Imphal.

An Eurocopter AS350 of Pawan Hans Helicopters has been reported as missing on April 30 whilst on a flight from Tawang to Itanagar, India. The last contact with the helicopter was approximately 20 minutes after its departure and bad weather conditions are currently hampering the search operation. The helicopter was carrying two crew and three passengers at the time of its disappearance.

Helibras AS350 B Esquilo PT-HMU (msn 1667 built 1983) of Helijet Aerotaxi Ltda has crashed at Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 2, coming down a short time after taking off. Unconfirmed press reports suggest the helicopter may have suffered a power loss in the initial climb out. The pilot was injured and his two passengers also sustained minor injuries (one of the passengers was famous Brazilian musician Marrone). The accident happened in daylight (1445L).

Embraer 145EU UR-DNK (msn 145039 built 1997) of Dniproavia sustained damage at Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow, Russia on April 28. While taxiing to the apron after landing on a flight from Dnepropetrovsk the aircraft apparently veered onto soft ground and suffered a main undercarriage collapse. The four crew and 30 passengers were uninjured in the accident

It is understood that Little Rock Air Force Base, Jacksonville, USA was hit by a Tornado during the evening of April 25. There are unconfirmed reports of up to three Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft sustaining damage together with severe damage to base housing and infrastructure. At least three people on the ground sustained minor injuries in the event.

St. Louis International Airport was hit by a Tornado on Friday 22nd April 2011. There are not reports of any serious injuries, however there is reported to be minor damage to some aircraft on the ramp. Aircraft known to have sustained damage include 2 Boeing 757's (N616AA msn24524, and N658AA msn24616), and three McDonnell Douglas MD80's (N584AA msn53247, N955U msn49427 and N980TW msn53630).

A Dhruv Helicopter belonging to the Indian Army has crashed in the Shav Mandir area of Northern India. The aircraft was lost in what has been reported as bad weather at approximately 1130 on Thursday 21st April. The wreckage has been found, and it is confirmed that there are 4 fatalities (two crew and two passengers), and no survivors.

An Argentine Navy (Comando de Aviacion Naval Argentina) Grumman S2T Turbo Tracker has crashed on landing at Base Aeronaval Comandante Espora, Bahia Blanca, Argentina. The landing took place after what is reported as an 'inflight incident', although no further details have been released.  The two crew are listed as injured, with no fatalities. The incident took place during the morning of Wednesday 20th April 2011.

Yakolev Yak40 RA-88241 (msn 9641351 built 1977) of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Air Enterprise has sustained damage after it overran the runway at Ust-Kamchatka, Russia, during take-off. The aircraft came to a halt approximately 300 meters past the runway end, supported by its left and nose gear, and it's starboard wing. No injuries occurred, although the aircraft is reported to have received substantial damage to its starboard wing.

An Air France Airbus A380  and a Comair -  Delta Connection Bombardier (Canadair) CRJ700 Regional Jet sustained damage in a ground collision whilst taxiing at New York John F Kennedy Airport, New York, USA on April 11. Unconfirmed press reports state that as the Airbus A380 was taxiing for departure its left wingtip struck the tail of the Regional Jet which had just arrived from Boston. There were no reported injuries in the event which happened in darkness (2015L).

Unconfirmed press reports state wreckage has been found near Rio Grande de Sierra and the two occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident.

Rockwell Sabreliner 60 N71CC (msn 306-71 built 1973) of Commercial Aviation Enterprises has sustained damage after it landed at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, Florida, USA on April 9 with its undercarriage retracted. Whilst on approach to West Palm Beach International Airport when the crew selected the undercarriage down it failed to lower. The crew then spent some time trying to rectify the problem but without success. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Fort Lauderdale Executive where they had earlier departed from and made a belly landing on Runway 08. There were no injuries to the occupants of the aircraft in the accident which happened in daylight (1357L).

Helibras AS355 F2 PT-HNA (msn 5376 built 1988) of JVC Taxi Aereo has been reported as missing in the State of Roraima, Brazil while on a flight from Alto Alegre Air Base to Boa Vista Air Base on April 6. The helicopter was carrying a pilot and four passengers (a team of officials from the National Health Foundation (FUNASA)) on a medivac flight at the time of the accident.

CASA 212-200 C-FDKM (msn 196 built 1981) of Fugro Aviation Canada was destroyed after it apparently forced landed on a road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 1. Unconfimed press reports suggest the aircraft may have suffered a power loss during the approach to Saskatoon with the crew attempting the landing on 51st street shortly after. The aircraft struck a concrete wall during the ground roll and broke up. The two crew suffered minor injuries but the passenger was killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1830L). The aircraft was operating a surveying flight.

The 2011 Sun N Fun Fly-in and exhibition at Linder Regional Airport, Florida was struck by a tornado at about 1200L on March 31st. There were no reported serious injuries but a large number of small general aviation aircraft, kit planes and home builds were destroyed or damaged. Amongst larger aircraft known to have been damaged were Eclipse 500 N94GA of Helijet Holdings Inc, which had a small aircraft blown on top of its forward fuselage, and Cessna 208B Grand Caravan N171CC of W.J.Bachschmidt and Others that were turned over. There are some reports that the Lakeland Police Department hangar was also damaged.

Cessna 550 Citation II B-7026 (msn 550-0305 built 1981) of Zhongfei Airlines has been reported as missing while on a flight from Korla Airport, Xinjiang, China on March 28. The aircraft had departed on a local flight at 1600L and failed to returned to Korla, with last contact with the flight at approximately 1945L. The aircraft was carrying three crew members at the time of its disappearance. A search is currently in progress in remote Hejing County in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region.

Antonov 12BP TN-AGK (msn 402006 built 1963) of Trans Air Congo was destroyed after it crashed in the final stages of an approach to Runway 17 at Pointe Noire Airport, Congo Brazzaville on March 21, coming down in a residential area. The four crew and five passengers were killed in the accident but it is unclear how many ground casualties there were at the present time. The aircraft was operating a cargo flight from Brazzaville.

Unconfirmed press reports suggest the helicopter came down while picking up water to fight a forest fire in the nearby Mt Gaya region. One of the three crew members was killed in the accident which happened in daylight (0647L).

CAIC MA60 FAB-96 (msn 0411 built 2007) of TAM - Transporte Aereo Militar has sustained damage after it suffered an undercarriage collapse on landing at Rurrenabaque Airport, Bolivia on March 18. During the approach when the undercarriage was selected down the crew reportedly could not get the nose undercarriage to extend. After troubleshooting failed to solve the problem a landing was subsequently made with the nose undercarriage still retracted. The aircraft eventually came to rest on its belly after its main undercarriage apparently failed during the ground roll. The 33 passengers and crew were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (0943L). The aircraft was operating a flight from La Paz, El Alto.

Bell Helicopter Textron 407 EC-KTA (msn 53831 built 2008) of INAER Helicopter Espana was destroyed after it crashed at Camarena, near Teruel, Spain on March 19. It is understood that six of the seven occupants of the helicopter were killed in the accident. The helicoper was reportedly transporting firefighters to a fire location at the time of the accident (1445L).

The helicopter was reportedly enroute from Blenheim to Rotorua.

The four occupants of the aircraft were killed in the accident which happened in darkness (2100L). The aircraft was operating a flight to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Unconfirmed press reports suggest the helicopter was being used to transport cargo by a external line although the circumstances of the accident are currently unclear. One of the two crew members was seriously injured in the accident which happened in daylight (0945L).

The accident happened in daylight (1554L). The Aircraft was operating a flight from Warsaw.

A Fairchild (Swearingen) Metro III (believed to be EC-ITP (msn BC-789B built 1991) but unconfirmed) operating for Manx2 has crashed on landing at Cork Airport, Ireland on February 10. The aircraft reportedly made an approach to Runway 17 in low visibility conditions and went around and did not land. A second approach was flown to Runway 35 but the aircraft went around a second time. On the second approach to Runway 17 the aircraft reportedly crashed adjacent to taxiway C on the airport. The aircraft was operating a flight from Belfast with two crew and ten passengers. According to unconfirmed press reports three people have been confirmed killed, two are seriously injured and four are unaccounted for.

Pilatus PC-12 ZS-GAA (msn 858 built 2007) of Majuba Aviation (Pty) Ltd has crashed into the sea off Plettenberg Bay, South Africa on February 8. The aircraft  reportedly went missing while making a go around after encountering thick fog at Plettenberg Bay Airport. Wreckage was spotted in the sea the following morning and the two crew and seven passengers are missing while a search and rescue operation is currently underway. The accident happened in daylight (1631L).

The approach was discontinued and the crew then spent some time trying to rectify the problem but without success. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Blenheim and landed a short time later with the nose undercarriage retracted. There were no injuries to the 41 passengers and three crew. The accident happened in daylight (1445L). The Aircraft was operating a flight (NZ8309) from Hamilton.

A Hangar has collapsed because of heavy snow at Norwood Memorial Airport, MassachusettsUSA on February 2. According to press reports the weight of falling snow caused the structure to collapse. It is understood that up to six aircraft and one helicopter were parked inside the Swift Aviation Services hangar at the time of the collapse, although a full damage report is not available as yet.

A Eurocopter EC145 (believed to be N245AF (msn 9322 built 2010) of Vulcan Aircraft Inc) has reportedly sustained damage after it made an emergency landing on water shortly after taking off from the Yacht Octopus which was moored in the bay off Ushuaia, Argentina on January 31. The helicopter came down on its floatation bags and remained afloat. The two crew were rescued with the Co-Pilot suffering minor injuries in the incident which happened in daylight (0810L). The yacht is owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen but neither Allen nor Bill Gates were aboard the helicopter at the time of the event.

The helicopter was understood to be surveying for possible locations of new radio towers on a local flight from Tucson.

A Piper PA46 Malibu Jetprop DLX (N727MC) which has been missing, with two people on board, in Colorado since January 9, 2011 has been found, crashed, amongst trees close to Blueberry Peak in the Sangre de Christo Mountains some 55 miles SSW of Pueblo, Colorado. The pilot, believed to be Dr Michael Welton, the registered owner of the aircraft, and his passenger, reported to be Roswitha Marold, 'a retired business woman', were killed in the crash. The aircraft disappeared towards the end of a flight from Deer Valley Airport, Phoenix, Arizona and Pueblo, Colorado. It is reported that last contact with the flight was a brief distress call with the aircraft then being seen in a steep descent from 20,000ft. The accident happened in daylight but reportedly in poor weather..

A HeliPortugal Eurocopter AS350B2 (CS-HFP) was substantially damaged during an apparent emergency landing in an open area in Corroios, Portugal close to the A2 motorway on January 10, 2011. According to witness reports quoted in the press, the helicopter was seen 'descending too quickly', its tail struck a low concrete wall and broke away and the the helicopter came to rest on its right side. There were no reported serious injuries to the two people on board. It is believed that the helicopter was operating under contract to TV1 and being used to report on traffic conditions during the morning rush hour.

An Air Asia A320 (9M-AHH) reportedly veered to the right on landing on Runway 25 at Kuching, Malaysia on January 10, 2011 and ran off the side of the runway onto soft ground where its nose undercarriage apparently collapsed. There were no serious injuries reported to the 124 passengers and crew on board. The accident happened in darkness (2110L) and in poor weather with 'heavy rain'. The aircraft was operating a flight (AK5218) from Kuala Lumpur.

Tupolev TU-154B2 RA-85588 (msn 588 built 1983) of Kolavia was destroyed by fire shortly after making an emergency landing at Surgat International Airport, Russia on January 1. According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft had departed Surgat and was enroute to Moscow Domodedovo when an engine problem prompted the aircraft to return to Surgat. It is understood that one of the 116 passengers and eight crew has been killed and a further four critically injured when after the safe landing a fire started and quickly spread through the aircraft.

Bell Helicopter Textron 205A-1 C-GFRE (msn 30185 built 1975) of Mustang Helicopters Inc has sustained damage during landing at a refuelling site near Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada on December 28. The pilot reportedly lost all visual references in blowing snow and the rotor blades struck the refueling truck. There was no fire and the pilot, who was the only occupant of the helicopter was uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1400L).

The helicopter was enroute to Odessa and reportedly flying in foggy weather conditions at the time of the accident.

MD Helicopters MD 600N D-HHWR (msn RN-055 built 2000) of Sky Heli has sustained damage in a forced landing at Isserstedt near Jena, ThuringiaGermany on December 28. According to unconfirmed press reports the helicopter was being used to blow snow off the roof of a shopping centre at the time of the accident. The pilot and two passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1540L).

It is understood the helicopter had been in a low hover over a sugar cane field using its rotor downwash to prevent the formation of frost on the crop. The exact circumstances of the accident are not currently known although reportedly the pilot was seriously injured.

Piper PA-46 Malibu Jetprop DLX N350MM  (msn 4622105 built 1990) of Side Stick LLC reportedly encountered engine problems in the cruise at 26,000ft whilst en route from Cozumel, Mexico and New Orleans, USA on December 4. The pilot subsequently ditched the aircraft in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 175 miles SE of New Orleans, coming down close to an oil platform. The pilot and three passengers survived the accident with no injuries and were rescued a short time later.

Tupolev TU-154M RA-85744 (msn 927 built 1992) of SE Airlines (formerly Daghestan Airlines) has crashed after its veered off the runway during an emergency landing at Domodedovo Airport, Moscow, Russia on December 4. According to unconfirmed press reports the crew reported an engine problem shortly after take off from Moscow Vnukovo Airport. A short time later they reported the failure of all three engines and they requested an immediate diversion to Domodedovo. The crew maintained control of the aircraft and glided it to a hard landing on Runway 32R at Domodedovo but veered off the runway and the aircraft broke apart.The aircraft was believed to be carrying nine crew and 163 passengers and initial reports are that were are two fatalities and 'dozens' injured. The aircraft was operating flight DAG372 to Makhachkala, Russia.

It is understood that two out of the three hangars at Eddsfield Airfield, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom have collapsed though weight of snow on their roofs after heavy snowfall on December 2. It is not currently known what aircraft were inside the hangars at the time of the collapse although it is believed Eddsfield is home to about 60 privately owned aircraft.

Ilyushin IL-76TD 4L-GNI (msn 0043452546 built 1984) of Sun Way was destroyed when it crashed shortly after take off from Karachi Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Pakistan on November 28. The aircraft came down in a residential area approximately 5km west of the airport and started a large ground fire. According to unconfirmed press reports a witness reported that fire could be seen from one of the aircraft's engines just prior to the crash. The eight crew onboard the aircraft were killed in the accident with at least four casualties on the groundThe accident happened in darkness (0145L) while the aircraft was operating a cargo flight (MGC4412) to Khartoum, Sudan.

Mil Mi-8T RA-22376 (msn 7257 built 1977) of Elcovka reportedly rolled over and caught fire following a hard landing at Krapivinskoye Field, Tarkski District, Russia on November 25. It is understood the seven passengers were killed and the three crew seriously injured in the accident which happened in daylight (1212L).

A Bell 412 helicopter of the Cameroon Air Force has crashed near Yaounde, Cameroon on November 22. Of the three crew and two passengers onboard the helicopter at the time of the accident four were killed. The helicopter was reportedly operating a flight from Douala to Yaounde.

Bell Helicopter Textron 407 N408UH  (msn 53663 built 2005) of Air Methods Corp reportedly struck a metal post with its tail rotor whilst landing on the I-84 highway near Ogden, Utah, USA on November 22 and it subsequently made a hard landing. The medical helicopter was responding to a road traffic accident at the time of the accident and there were no reported injuries to the occupants of the helicopter.

Lockheed C-130H-30 Hercules 7T-WHA (msn 4997 built 1984) of the Algerian Air Force has reportedly veered off the runway on landing at Paris Le Bourget Airport, France on November 19 and its left main undercarriage has collapsed.  There were no reported injuries to the nine occupants of the aircraft in the accident which happened in daylight (0900L). The aircraft was operating a cargo flight from Boufarik, Algeria.

Unconfirmed reports suggest a Yemen Arab Republic Air Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules (believed to be 7O-ADD (msn 4827 built 1979 but also unconfirmed) overran the runway on landing at Sana'a International Airport, Republic of Yemen on November 18.  There were no reported injuries to the occupants of the aircraft which was operating a flight from Amman, Jordan.

An Indian Air Force Mil Mi-17 has crashed into high terrain shortly after taking off from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India on November 19. The 12 passengers and crew were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1200L). The helicoper was reportedly en route to Guwahati.

A general aviation aircraft (reportedly Cessna 501SP Citation Eagle II G-VUEM msn 501-0178 built 1981 owned by Frandley Aviation Partnership LLP and operated by AD Aviation) has crashed on landing at Birmingham International Airport, United Kingdom on November 19. According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft came down by the Runway 15 threshold while on final approach in foggy conditions and caught fire. The two crew were reportedly injured in the accident.

The aircraft was operating a flight to Davis Station, Antarctica with a planned stop at Bunger Hills.

A Bell 412 helicopter of Acespa has crashed at Valle del Cauca near Trujillo, Colombia on November 13. The helicopter was initially reported as missing while on a flight from Los Cedros Caleba to Tulua until its wreckage was discovered in a remote area near Trujillo. The pilot and two passengers were all killed in the accident.

An Antonov An-24 (believed to be ST-ARQ msn 07305910 built 1970) of Tarco Airlines has crashed on landing at Zalingei Airport, Sudan on November 11, According to unconfirmed press reports the aircraft reportedly burst two tyres on touching down, it then veered off the unpaved runway breaking into two parts and catching fire. Six of the 38 passengers and crew were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1618L) and reportedly several of the survivors were seriously injured. The aircraft was operating a flight from Khartoum.

A Eurocopter AS350 of Fishtail Airlines P/L has crashed near the Mount Ama Dablam base camp in the Solukhumbu district of Nepal on November 7. Contact with the helicopter was reportedly lost soon after it departed from Lukla on a flight to rescue two ill Japanese mountaineers who were stranded on Mount Ama Dablam. The two crew were killed in the accident which happened in daylight.

During the evening of November 4 an Aklak Air hangar at Inuvik Mike Zubko Airport, Northwest Territories, Canada was destroyed by fire. Reportedly parked in the hangar and consumed by the fire were Beech 99 C-GKKB (msn U-149 built 1975), Beech A100 King Air C-GHOC (msn B-194 built 1974 and DHC-6-300 Twin Otter C-GZVH (msn 671 built 1980), all operated by Kenn Borek Air. It is understood that the fire was reportedly caused by an emergency generator after a power outage.

Boeing 737-2C3 XA-UHY (msn 21016 built 1975) of Global Air SA de CV has sustained damage after it landed at Gustavo D Ordaz Airport, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on November 4, with its nose undercarriage still retracted. It is understood that the nose undercarriage failed to extend when it was selected down and the crew elected to land with it locked up after trouble shooting failed to release it. The 54 passengers and crew were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight. The aircraft was operating a flight from Mexico City International Airport.

A Hawker Beechcraft 1900 C-1 of JS Air has crashed shortly after taking off from Karachi International Airport, Pakistan on November 5, coming down in a residential area at Gulistan-e-Jauhar killing all four crew and 17 passengers. According to unconfirmed press reports the pilot had requested to return to the airport after the aircraft had suffered an engine failure. The accident happened in daylight (0731L). The aircraft was operating a flight to Bhit Shah.

An Aerocaribbean ATR-72-212 has crashed in a mountainous area near Guasimal, in the Sancti Spiritus region of Cuba on November 4, killing all 68 passengers and crew. According to unconfirmed press reports a distress call was made at 1742L before contact with the aircraft was lost. The accident happened in daylight (1745L). The aircraft was operating an internal Cuban flight from Santiago Antonio Maceo Airport, to Havana.

Airbus A380-841 VH-OQA (msn 014 built 2008) of Qantas has sustained minor damage after it suffered an uncontained failure of its No.2 engine shortly after take off from Singapore Changi International Airport, Singapore on November 4. The aircraft returned and landed safely at Singapore a short time later. The 26 crew and 433 passengers were uninjured in the accident which happened in daylight (1145L). The aircraft was operating a flight (QFA32) to Sydney, Australia. As a safety precaution Qantas have grounded all their A380 aircraft pending investigation of the event.

MD Helicopters 369E N765WH (msn 0600E built 2009) of Winco Inc crashed during power-line operations near Thomas, West Virginia, USA on October 30. The helicopter had just completed power line work on the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line (TRAIL) project and was believed to have been taking off when the accident occured and it came down in a wooded area. One Line worker passenger was killed while the pilot and two other linemen suffered serious injuries in the accident which happened in daylight (1030L).

Boeing 737-4Y0 PK-LIQ (msn 24911 built 1991) of Lion Air has sustained substantial damage after it overran the runway on landing in heavy rainfall at Pontianak Supadio International Airport, Indonesia on November 2, and its nose and main undercarriage collapsed. The six crew and 169 passengers safely evacuated the aircraft with no injuries reported. The accident happened in daylight (1125L). The aircraft was operating a flight JT712 from Jakarta.

Eurocopter AS350B-3 F-GJFJ (msn 4312 built 2007) of SAF Helicopteres was destroyed when it crashed approximately 62 miles from the Dumont d-Urville scientific station in Antarctica on October 28. The pilot and three passengers were killed in the accident which happened in reportedly poor weather conditions. The helicopter was initially reported as missing until wreckage was discovered the following day by a search plane. The helicopter was operating on behalf of IPEV - Institut Polaire Francais from the French research vessel L'Astrolabe and was en route to the Dumont d'Urville Station.

Let L-410 Turbolet UVP OK-PDO (msn 851411 built 1985) of Petr Navratil Aerotaxi & Airschool was destroyed by fire while it was parked on the ramp at Otrokovice Airport, Czech Republic on October 31.  It is understood the cause of the fire which was discovered at 1600L is currently unknown and is subject to an investigation. Allegedly the aircraft had been stored on a freely accessible area of the airfield for a considerable amount of time.

Piper PA-46 500TP Malibu Meridian N234PM (msn 4697200 built 2005) of Sitton Enterprises LLC suffered a power loss shortly after take off from Port Mansfield Airport, Texas, USA on October 29. The pilot subsequently successfully forced landed the aircraft in an open field, however the outer right wing struck a post and was torn off. The aircraft came to a stop on its belly and there was no fire or injuries to the three occupants of the aircraft.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland helicopter (believed to be Eurocopter AS355F2 G-SEWP msn 5480 built 1991) has sustained substantial damage after it crashed near Leitrim Lodge in the Mourne Mountains, Northern IrelandUnited Kingdom on October 28. The four occupants of the helicopter reportedly suffered various non life threatening injuries. The accident happened in daylight (1100L) but in heavy rain and low cloud. The helicopter was taking part in a Police clearance operation in connection with the helicopter crash in the same area on October 23.

A WSK-PZL Mielec M28 Skytruck of the Indonesian Police was destroyed after it crashed near Wami, Indonesia on October 27. The five crew were killed in the accident which happened in daylight (1600L) and in reportedly bad weather conditions. The aircraft had departed from Nabire Airport and was en route to Jakarta via Ambon and Makassar. It is understood that the aircraft had just delivered aid supplies to victims of the Wasior floods in West Papua.
